COOLING

Summer dreams will be melting in the heat if your air conditioning unit is not working properly, not sized correctly for your home, or is just plain broken. That's where we come in to the picture to banish those nightmares of sweltering heat and let you sleep easy in cool comfort. We service all makes and types of air conditioning units so you can enjoy your home all summer long.

Here in Spokane it gets plenty hot in the middle of summer to necessitate heavy use of a/c cooling. But don't let it be more of an energy hog than it has to be. Follow these tips to conserve energy while maintaining comfort.

  1. Start with the thermostat set to 78 with the unit set to "auto" and adjust from there. Most likely that will be cool enough. For extra savings, allow it to be warmer at night (when you are less likely to notice) and when you are away.
  2. Use fans to circulate the air, especially ceiling fans.
  3. Allow home to cool naturally in early morning by opening windows if possible, then close them and keep closed until outside air is significantly cooler than inside. Then repeat the process.
  4. Be mindful of how the sun strikes your house and use blinds to keep the warmth of the sun from heating your home unnecessarily.
  5. Consider upgrading your insulation and windows
  6. Consider upgrading your air conditioner especially if it is more than 10 years old for maximum efficiency
  7. Keep unit clean, maintained, and clear of any obstructions. Hire a qualified HVAC company (that's us!) to regularly service unit.
  8. Don't ignore repairs. They will be more costly the longer you wait, both in decreased efficiency and decreased lifespan from added wear and tear
